All three of the Nissan Cabstar engines have second generation common
rail injection systems. And all three provide economy along with
reduced noise and high torque at low RPM. The range of 2.5L engines
include 110HP/250Nm or 130HP/270Nm, both with a flat torque curve
for more engine elasticity. The 3.0L engine, with 150HP/350Nm, has
a variable geometry turbo.
With its compact dimensions and small turning circle (10.56m to 13.54m
depending onwheelbase), Cabstar is agile enough to take on city streets.
Independent front suspension plus powered rack and pinion steering
also provide secure handling – and easier driving.
The 5 and 6-speed manual transmission gearboxes provide ample hill-climbing
power, even with full loads. The 6-speed gearbox has a special short
first gear for heavy loads and delivers improved fuel consumption
on motorway usage.
Even though they comply with Euro 4 legislation, Cabstar’s
engines go easy on fuel, consuming 5% less than previous models.
So you can go farther with fewer stops.
The Nissan Cabstar is packed with User-friendly technology. Keyless
entry means you can unlock the cabin doors with remote control. Power
windows and mirrors are also available, as well as a CD system to
make long drives more enjoyable.
The optional on-board computer is packed with useful information:
how far you can go on your remaining fuel, accumulated time and distance,
tyre rotation – even shift-up advice foroptimum gear changes.
Easy Hill Start (EHS) holds Cabstar’s brake when stopped on
a hill. The system detects the clutch pedal release; when there’s
enough torque to move forward, the brake is released. So there’s
no need for the hand brake. EHS can be switched on and off with convenient
switches in the cab.
The Cabstar has plenty of safety features: Four disc brakes are standard
in all Cabstars, and on 3.5T models ABS and EBD (electronic brake
distribution) provide optimum braking.
Cabstar now has a reinforced cabin structure, including anti-intrusion
bars in the cabin doors to maintain the tough shell’s integrity.
The cabin is also protected by a sturdy shock-absorbing front bumper.
